Shhh…Silence IS Golden

In a society that values doing vs being, information vs wisdom, analyzing vs intuition, it can be challenging to buck the norm and be still and be quiet.

Sages for millennia have been telling us that this is the way to freedom. My personal experience confirms this.

Being quiet allows us to connect with the infinite abundance energy of the universe; the source of all creativity, prosperity, joy and wisdom. Quiet contemplation raises our vibration and attracts other high vibration energy, something most of us need a lot more of.

There is a wise and wonderful Sage inside each of us that we cannot hear unless we slow down, unplug and get quiet. It’s not on your smart phone or on Google or on Netflix. And you can’t hear your Sage’s voice if you’re talking.

Try the WAIT test, “Why Am I Talking?” Is what you’re saying thoughtful, honest, necessary and kind? Did they ask? What’s your motivation?

Talking can be another form of “busy,” drowning out reality, avoiding feelings or stroking the tender ego. It’s okay, we all have our thing. Awareness then acceptance are the first steps to changed behavior.

A ritual of tuning into your body or your breath can be a great way to slow down, listen and become aware of our patterns. Giving ourselves compassion is a powerful way to get into acceptance. Then you can calmly decide on the next right action; maybe it’s talking, maybe it’s not.

Try it, you might not want to start talking again for a while.

Schedule a chat if you'd like to go deeper.

Journal Prompts:
Do I talk more than I listen? If so, why.
What am I trying to say?
What does my inner Sage want me to know?
